An exhaustive
health assessment

Imagine running faster, recovering quicker, and feeling stronger — with a clear vision of what your body truly needs. The Labology Full Body Scan is designed to give you a complete and unprecedented view of your health status.

This is not just a test. It is an information platform for life.

Created for athletes, wellness enthusiasts, and those who want to go beyond routine check-ups, our Full Body Scan is the benchmark for preventive and performance-based evaluation. It combines an exhaustive blood analysis that goes far beyond conventional lab tests with a state-of-the-art body composition measurement by our partner Vault.

What's included

  • Bone mineral density (BMD)

Beyond LDL cholesterol :
the predictive role of ApoB

While the industry still largely focuses on LDL-cholesterol to assess cardiovascular risk, Labology offers you more precise and powerful information : the ApoB test.

Apolipoprotein B is an increasingly recognised marker as the most reliable indicator of cardiovascular disease risk. Unlike LDL-cholesterol, ApoB doesn't measure a "part" of cholesterol, but directly how many atherogenic particles are circulating in your arteries. A high ApoB level, even with an LDL-C level within the normal range, can signal an increased risk.

By including this marker, Labology gives you a clearer, more predictive view of your cardiovascular health — allowing you to act proactively, years before any symptom appears.

Why it matters

Two people with identical LDL cholesterol can have very different ApoB levels — and therefore very different true cardiovascular risk. ApoB is the marker that reveals the difference.

ApoB vs LDL

LDL tells you how much cholesterol is in your blood.

ApoB tells you how many particles are hitting your artery walls.

Fat Mass

Indicates the amount and distribution of fat in your body — including visceral fat surrounding your organs. A crucial indicator for metabolic health and weight management.

Lean Mass

Reveals your total muscle mass. This data is essential for athletes looking to optimise their performance and for anyone wanting to maintain strength and metabolism over time.

Bone Mineral Content

Evaluates the density of your bones — a key element for preventing osteoporosis and for long-term structural health. Think of it as a direct measure of how dense and strong your bones are.

The blood panel

41 biomarkers
in detail

This is the scientific foundation upon which we build your personalised health roadmap. Each marker has been carefully selected to provide an accurate picture of your vital organ function, metabolic balance, and overall inflammatory state.

Essential electrolytes
5 markers+

Electrolytes regulate fluid balance, nerve transmission, muscle contraction and bone metabolism. Imbalances — even mild ones — directly affect energy, cognitive performance and recovery.

Hepatic function (liver)
9 markers+

The liver regulates cholesterol synthesis, hormone metabolism, toxin clearance and energy regulation. Liver enzymes are sensitive early indicators of metabolic stress — often affected by diet, alcohol and physical training load before any symptom appears.

Renal function (kidneys)
4 markers+

CPK is particularly relevant for athletes — it measures muscle enzyme release that indicates muscle damage or overtraining. Combined with kidney markers, it provides a complete picture of the renal and muscular stress response to physical training.

Blood sugar & metabolic health
2 markers+

HbA1c provides a reliable 3-month average of your blood glucose levels — far more informative than a single fasting glucose reading. Together, these two markers reveal how efficiently your body manages energy and whether early insulin resistance is developing.

Cardiovascular risk — incl. ApoB
6 markers+
ApoB (Apolipoprotein B) Triglycerides Cholesterol HDL-Cholesterol LDL Cholesterol calculated Non-HDL Cholesterol

ApoB is the most clinically accurate cardiovascular risk marker available — measuring the actual number of atherogenic lipoprotein particles rather than the cholesterol they contain. People with normal or even low LDL can have elevated ApoB and therefore significantly higher true cardiovascular risk. This is why leading preventive cardiologists now consider ApoB the minimum acceptable standard.

Inflammation
1 marker+

CRP is a sensitive marker for systemic inflammation — one of the strongest independent predictors of cardiovascular events, metabolic disease and impaired recovery. Elevated CRP often precedes symptoms by years and is directly amenable to nutritional and lifestyle intervention.

Blood cell count (CBC)
8 markers+

The complete blood count reveals anaemia, immune function, oxygen-carrying capacity and platelet health. For athletes and active individuals, haemoglobin and haematocrit are particularly critical markers of endurance performance and recovery capacity.

Iron stores
1 marker+

Ferritin measures iron stores — not just circulating iron. Low ferritin is one of the most frequently missed causes of fatigue and poor athletic performance, even in athletes who appear otherwise healthy on a standard blood count.

Thyroid function
1 marker+

Thyroid function governs the speed of virtually every metabolic process — energy production, body temperature regulation, cholesterol metabolism and cognitive performance. Even subclinical thyroid dysfunction measurably impacts all of these.

Key vitamins
3 markers+

Vitamin D is essential for immune function, bone density and metabolic health. B12 and B9 drive energy production and cellular repair. All three are commonly deficient in Switzerland — particularly in winter months — and directly affect performance, mood and recovery.

Questions

Frequently
asked
questions

What is the Full Body Scan by Vault and why is it the most accurate method?
The DEXA scan is a quick, low-dose X-ray that measures your body's composition with a level of precision that no smart scale or at-home device can match. Unlike consumer scales that are affected by hydration levels, meal timing and other variables, DEXA provides a highly precise and consistent measurement every time. It is the preferred tool for doctors, researchers and elite sports organisations for tracking body composition over time — and it is the method used by our partner Vault in Zurich.
What specific information does the body scan provide?
The DEXA scan provides a detailed breakdown of your body composition at a level that a regular scale cannot offer:
  • Body fat percentage — total and regional distribution
  • Lean mass — muscle, organs and water
  • Bone mineral density (BMD) — essential for bone health monitoring
  • Visceral fat — the fat surrounding your organs, a key metabolic health indicator
  • Regional analysis — fat and muscle distribution in your arms, legs and trunk
Where and by whom is the DEXA scan performed?
The body scan is performed at our partner clinic Vault, located at Brandschenkestrasse 150, 8002 Zurich. The scan is conducted by a certified technician. Following the scan, results are analysed and interpreted by a trained health professional to ensure accuracy and provide a comprehensive report.
Why does the Full Body Scan include ApoB instead of just LDL cholesterol?
ApoB (Apolipoprotein B) is now recognised by leading cardiologists and preventive medicine specialists as the most accurate predictor of atherosclerosis and coronary artery disease. LDL measures the concentration of cholesterol within particles. ApoB counts the actual number of atherogenic particles — since each particle carries exactly one ApoB molecule. Research consistently shows that particle number is a stronger predictor of cardiovascular events than cholesterol concentration. Including ApoB in the Full Body Scan gives you the same level of cardiovascular risk assessment that leading preventive medicine clinics now consider the minimum standard.
Do I need to fast before the blood draw?
Yes, we recommend fasting for 8 to 12 hours before your blood draw to ensure accurate readings for fasting glucose, HbA1c, lipid panel and liver function markers. Water is permitted and encouraged. Please avoid alcohol, excessive exercise and fatty foods the day before your appointment.
Is the Full Body Scan available in Geneva?
The blood analysis component of the Full Body Scan is available at both our Zurich and Geneva clinics. However, the DEXA body composition scan is currently only available at Vault in Zurich (Brandschenkestrasse 150, 8002 Zurich). Patients from Geneva are welcome to combine their visit with the Zurich clinic for the blood draw on the same day.
